All activities related to the deployment into peacekeeping operations abroad are performed through the Inter-police Cooperation Department of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior. In April 2000, members of the RS MoI were deployed into UN peacekeeping mission in East Timor. 10 police officers from the Republic of Srpska participated in the mentioned mission that ended in 2005. Ongoing UN peacekeeping missions are UN peacekeeping mission in Liberia (UNIMIL), UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP) and UN peacekeeping mission in Sudan (UNMIS).
